We love summer in Monmouthshire. Warmer and longer days are finally here and with them lots of great opportunities to make memories in this glorious Welsh borderand over the coming months. With a growing reputation for award-winning food and drink, it's a great base to explore the Wye Valley (birthplace of British tourism) and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Come rain or shine, there are lots of great things to do in Wales' food capital at this time of year. Like walking, cycling, stand up paddle boarding and windsurfing to wine tasting, wild foraging, forest bathing and visiting castles (we have 9!) and romantic ruins. With a packed events programme including at Tintern Abbey, Caldicot Castle and Old Station and some amazing gardens to visit, there's no shortage of options.
On the border with England, and at the crossroads between the Wye Valley National Landscape, Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park and the low-lying cultural landscape of the Gwent Levels, welcome to Monmouthshire!
