Americans call it leaf-peeping. The Japanese call it momiji-gari. Whatever you choose to call it, there’s nothing quite like the autumn displays in the Wye Valley when the leaves on the deciduous trees change from green to red, gold and orange as the temperature drops and the days get shorter. The best displays are usually in October and early November, and are a short drive from Chepstow, Monmouth and Tintern.
Autumn is also a time for events in Monmouthshire. Wrapping up warm and standing by a bonfire watching fireworks, fun photos in a maize maze whilst picking pumpkins, or exploring historic castles filled with ghosts and ghouls. You'll find all of these and more below.
