About
The Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust (MBACT) is a local charity focusing on restoring the Mon & Brec canal for its entire length. The Trust operates 2 community trip boats from the popular Goytre Wharf. The boats normally run at weekends and through the school holidays. Booking isn't required, but the boats can also be hired for special occasions or educational trips.
The boats allow everyone to experience the beauty of the canal as it winds its way through the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. Both boats are electrically powered and allow everyone to experience the sight and sounds of the canal without a noisy engine. The larger Lord Raglan boat is is a covered boat compete with wheelchair lift and disabled friendly toilet. It can accommodate up to 25 passengers. The boat also has two designated wheelchair spaces.
More information can be found on the MBACT website at https://mbact.org.uk/our-boats/
