Walking in Chepstow

Chepstow is Monmouthshire's walking hub, with three long distance walks starting / finishing here in South East Wales. You can set off along the 870 mile Wales Coast Path, heading south-west through the Gwent Levels. Combine this with the 177 mile Offa's Dyke Path and you can walk the whole outline of Wales! The third long distance trail is the beautiful Wye Valley Walk, taking in the scenic village of Tintern as you head north along the Lower Wye Valley.

If you want to try something a little shorter, we have a host of circular walks taking in the local heritage, the scenic countryside and walks around the town itself. You can see more of these walks below.

Chepstow is also a Walker's are Welcome town, so make sure to visit the local Tourist Information Centre if you need any help or guidance on where to walk. They also host the popular Chepstow Walking Festival every year in April.
