Caldicot Castle played a starring role in the filming of the second season of ITVs period drama Sanditon, based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel. Caldicot Castle's Country Park played host to the army camp throughout the season, so look out for the castle itself popping up in the background occasionally.
Here it is playing hide & seek with Augusta Markham at the start of Season 2, Episode 1:

I'm sure you'll agree it did a great job of looking suitably castle-y. Anyone wanting to see the castle's performance for themselves should head to the ITV Hub page for Sanditon. It appears most in episodes one and six of the second season.
And if you want to visit this filming location, Caldicot Castle is open Tuesday - Sunday every day from Easter - Halloween, and is FREE to visit.
