About

Growing in the Border is a beautiful garden in the Monnow Valley near Skenfrith. They offer group visits plus practical horticultural courses and talks at the Blackbrook Estate in Monmouthshire.

The courses take a hands-on educational approach, teaching people of all gardening abilities.

Blackbrook Estate's private gardens have been the creative project of Boo Vaughan for over 30 years. Together with her gardener Kathryn Owen, who has worked there for 10 years, they have decided to share their horticultural passion and knowledge.

Courses

Our horticultural courses are offered from Autumn through to Spring. Head Gardener, Kathryn Owen, will be teaching different aspects of gardening including scientific, artistic and design topics, as well as gardening techniques.

Garden Visits

We are open by appointment for group visits of 10-15, from April to early September.

Coffee/tea and home made cakes are available by prior arrangement.
