About
2 mile walk around the land between the River Wye and the River Monnow.
This is an easy walk with no stiles and three short flights of steps on the southern edge of Monmouth town. Two River Meadow is managed as a community orchard by a community group, which keeps the paths open for visitors to enjoy and encourages wildlife. Keep a look out for warblers, reed buntings and herons in the reeds and along the riverbank. Otters have even been seen here early in the mornings. The Recreation Ground, or Chippenham Fields was the town race course until the end of the 19th century. Now it is used for bowls, tennis, cricket, football and rugby.
