Hamza Yassin at The Blake Theatre, Monmouth

About

Star of Countryfile, Animal Park, Cbeebies, The One Show and of course Strictly Come Dancing Winner 2022, Hamza Yassin joins us to talk about his passion for wildlife, his fascinating career and how he overcame adversity.

Hamza is best known as the TV presenter of the hugely popular CBeebies live-action shows Let's Go For A Walk and Eco Quest. He is a presenter on BBC's Countryfile and Animal Park. Hamza has worked on BBC nature documentaries including filming golden eagles for David Attenborough's recent BBC series Wild Isles.

Hamza was also the presenter and cameraman on Channel 4 documentary Scotland: My Life in the Wild, which was about Hamza's own life in the Scottish Highlands and the wildlife that lives there. In a four-part follow-up series called Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, Hamza guided celebrity companions on journeys through western and eastern Scotland and the Highlands.

Hamza has impressive qualifications with a Master's Degree (MSc.) in Biological Imaging and Photography with Merit, in addition to his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Zoology with Conservation.

Hamza has a passion for birds and is a skilled ornithologist and birds nest recorder, with excellent field craft and habitat knowledge. Hamza is also a wildlife photographer as well as a wildlife tour guide. He is currently working on his first book entitled 'Be a Birder'.

Hamza will discuss a wide range of topics from overcoming adversity with dyslexia, his journey to becoming a wildlife photographer, share beautiful images of his young life in Sudan and all his travels around the world as a cameraman and finally his Strictly triumph!

Hamza will bring his cameras along for people to see up close and personal and will also do a short Q&A session (so get your thinking caps on for those burning questions you've always wanted to ask!).

Hamza will be selling and signing his new book 'Be A Birder' in the Foyer after the show.

Book in advance, Hamza is a popular speaker!
