(Magor Marsh at Dawn - Amanda Jones)
Spring is a time to get out and soak up the sights and sounds of nature around you, and what better place to do this than the magical Magor Marsh on the Gwent Levels, with its spectacular light and big skies? This free nature reserve is the last relatively natural area of fenland on the Gwent Levels. It's a very special place where you can catch glimpses of kingfishers, colourful dragonflies darting across the reens and a wide range of birdlife across the year. And this year, with the new digital trail, you can explore the Marsh with your own free personal tour-guide.

This new trail is easily downloaded to your phone from QR codes onsite at Magor Marsh or from this link before you arrive. Both entry to the reserve and the digital trail are free.
The idea behind the new digital experience is to offer an in-depth tour of the reserve, usually only available with a staff member present. The digital trail is a perfect family activity, encouraging children to learn about the natural world in a fun interactive way with an element of healthy competition thrown in, as you answer a series of multiple choice questions on different areas of the reserve.
Being digital, the trail has less of an environmental impact than traditional printed media and can be kept up to date with the very latest information on nature at the site, offering a whole new way to interact with this amazing nature reserve.
So head down to Magor Marsh today and join in the fun.
The work is supported by the Nature Networks Fund administered by National Lottery Heritage Fund and funded by Welsh Government.
