Congratulations to the team at Silver Circle Distillery, based in the Wye Valley, on winning two Silver Awards at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC). The awards were for their 'Ultimate Bloody Mary' ("Rich, spicy aromas....glorious finish lingers") and for their signature 'Wye Valley Gin' ("smooth and light with a warmth that develops"). Silver Circle Distillery were one of eight Welsh businesses to achieve medals at the competition.
Founded in 1969, the IWSC is a prestigious competition with a reputation for quality and rigour. So to win any one of their medals (let alone two!) is a great achievement. This is the fifth year in a row a Monmouthshire business has won an award following Ancre Hill Vineyard in 2023, Silver Circle in 2022 and the Monmouth Gin Company in 2021 and 2020.

Having recently moved to Kate Humble's farm in Penallt (near Monmouth) from their previous base near Tintern, Silver Circle Distillery continues to go from strength to strength. They're no strangers to awards, regularly achieving Great Taste stars (including four at the 2023 Great Taste Awards), and are continually experimenting with their flavours to create new and exciting spirits (including a Pinot Noir Gin late last year!).
