About
Also known as Magor Mansion, the Procurator's House is the ruined remains of a mansion situated next to St. Mary's Church in Magor. It is doubtful it was ever actually occupied by the Procurator (the church official who would collect the tithe in the area), although an earlier building on the site may have.
The current building was built in the early 16th century (and referred to in 1585) and is one of only two such sites in the UK.
