Things to do in Monmouthshire
You don't have to be fit to visit Monmouthshire. And you certainly don't need to work up a sweat once you've arrived, although we've got more than 1,000 miles of public footpaths to walk! We guarantee once you see our countryside that you'll want to get outdoors and find a host of things to do here.
Whether it's walking the Wales Coast Path solo, kayaking down the river Wye with your family or playing a round of golf as part of a team, there's no shortage of activities for you to try. Have a go at paddleboarding - one of the fastest-growing sports to hit the UK - or for the more adventurous, experience the thrill of soaring on thermal currents on a tandem paragliding flight off the Blorenge.
If it's raining and you don't want to get wet, there are plenty of things to do under cover. Check out one of our museums in Abergavenny, Monmouth or Chepstow to hear the stories of these towns, visit one of our nine medieval castles dotted across Monmouthshire, each with it's own stories, events and fun activities.
Or visit our bustling market towns, each with their own character and a wide range of independent shops. There's always plenty of things to do here in Monmouthshire.
