Enjoy a five mile (approx 3 hour) circular walk through the industrial landscape of the Wye Valley at Tintern. Produced by Wye Valley National Landscape, the walk takes you from the car park of the Lower Wireworks (one of the most important industrial sites in the Wye Valley), up the scenic Angidy Valley to Abbey Tintern Furnace, passing numerous industrial remains along the way.
You'll then descend back down the wooded valleyside to the River Wye, passing the iconic Tintern Abbey and ruined remains of St. Mary's Church, plus the restaurants and pubs at the heart of Tintern (and an option to extend your walk over the Wireworks Bridge towards Offa's Dyke and the Devil's Pulpit viewpoint).
The walk starts at the Lower Wireworks Car Park on Forge Road (NP16 6TQ) with waymarked signposts directing.
