Abbey Tintern Furnace contains the excavated and part restored remains of a 17th century ironworks, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is set alongside the Angidy River in an opening in this historic wooded valley, near to Tintern village.

There is a small free car park on site.

The walk follows a path of leats to Abbey Tintern Furnace and then climbs around Buckle Wood to return via St Mary's Church, Lime Kiln, Tintern Abbey and Abbey Mill.
