About
Visit Chepstow Castle and have a go at making a patch of maille (chain mail) to take home with you.
Learn how traditional maille was made and see the tools and techniques for making the rings from a piece of wire.
Learn how the rings were 'woven' together and have a go at linking and riveting rings for yourselves.
Replicas of mail from different historical periods will be on show and you can try on a mail shirt to see how it would feel to wear one.
This is a drop-in session with no need to book.
