About
Meeting at the car park in Undy we first cross the railway and walk down to the estuary to access the Wales Coast Path, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. After following the Coast Path route for nearly 2 miles we turn inland towards Redwick and the interesting Church of St Thomas The Apostle, which is well known for its association with the Great Floods of 1606/7. After lunch we head back east via South Row and will be able to see how the Levels drainage system works. We then make our way to Magor Marsh Wildlife Reserve, one of the last remaining pieces of natural fenland that once covered the Gwent Levels and now managed by Gwent Wildlife Trust and is a Special Site of Scientific Interest. It's then a short walk back over the railway bridge to the start.
7.2 miles of moderate, flat walking. Bring packed lunch and drinks.
