About
Hidden Valley Yurts offer luxury yurt holidays for families and groups. Glamping (as it's often called) is a perfect get away holiday break for those who want to enjoy the simplicity of a camping holiday with no tent to put up and with the luxury of a wood burning stove and a proper bed to sleep in. A yurt camping holiday at Hidden Valley is all about peace and quiet – no radios, ipods or tvs – just the sound of the stream and the birds. Guitars and singing around the campfire welcome! In a secluded valley, invisible to the outside world, lies Hidden Valley Yurts at Lower Glyn Farm. Our 5 Mongolian yurts (3 for 7 people and 2 for 5 people) stretch along the top of a beautiful, south-facing meadow alongside a stream.
Step through one of the brightly coloured doors of these innovative homes and you’ll find they are light, cosy and warm. Lovingly decked out with beds, chairs, lights, rugs and wall-hangings each yurt is equipped with a wood-burning stove with kindling and wood for fuel.
Inside the muffled confines of the sheep’s wool felt lining, each yurt feels intensely private. Comfortable and unique they entreat you to curl up and unwind, having spent the day wandering around the magical woodland, wildflower-peppered meadows and fields belonging to the farm’s 80 acres.
Outside, you can relax on your own decking with ample seating and stunning views. A large communal kitchen and bathroom area boasts the kind of veranda that would make Gone-With-The-Wind-type southerners jealous, and provides just the spot for whiling away evenings watching the sunset or playing a board game. Below there’s a boules pitch, badminton net, campfire area, wood-burning pizza oven, safari style dining tent and chicken run where you may collect fresh eggs each day.
Within easy reach of Monmouth, Tintern, Raglan, Usk, Chepstow and other notable spots along the picturesque Wye Valley, Hidden Valley Yurts is a well-located base for taking in the kind of sites that made the likes of Wordsworth and Turner produce masterpieces. A designated area of outstanding natural beauty, this corner of Wales has definitely been blessed by Mother Nature. But once ensconced in this beauteous valley, tucked away from the outside world, it’s hard to tear yourself away. So hard, in fact, you might just wish that the buggy runs out of juice before it takes you back to your car!
