About

The Chickenshed is a former poultry barn which has been transformed into an elegant light space, ideal for families and friends to spend time together. It is found off a quiet lane on the Trellech plateau above the Wye Valley, between Chepstow and Monmouth

The Chickenshed sleeps 8 in uncluttered comfort; two of the bedrooms have kingsized beds and are ensuite; the third also has a kingsized bed and shares a family bathroom with the fourth bedroom which has twin beds.

The living area is open plan but is divided up by use into effectively separate rooms within the room – there is a superbly equipped kitchen area (with Bulthaup kitchen); there is a large dining table with seating for 8; there is a sitting area with a long sofa, an ottoman and chairs around the log burner; and there is a snug/TV area with a large sofa. In addition, there is a boot room with hanging, storage and a bench.

Much of the furniture is bespoke; the Welsh blankets on the beds are antiques, there is carefully chosen art and a selection of books both about the area and by local authors.

Outside, there is a terrace across the front of the building, with a Kadai fire pit and outdoor seating; there is a generous (fully enclosed) garden with both flat grassed areas and steeper areas of grass and woodland; and there is a logstore. Access is also possible into the approx 2 acre field behind the building which is rich in wildlife, and from there (by way of public footpath) into the woods beyond.

Dogs are welcome at the Chickenshed.
