Poster for 'Renewal' (Music on the Wye))

About

A concert of music for oboe and string trio by award winning international composer Fiona T Frank, with varied combinations of these four instruments. There will be a world premiere of 'Water is Life' for solo cello, performed by Sonia Hammond, which is inspired by the life giving gift of water; so necessary for our world. There are several string trios and a work for cello and oboe inspired by poetry. The full blown oboe quartet receives its premiere in the 2nd half.

The new seating is comfortable and the setting of St Michael's Church , Tintern, is as romantic as Turner and Wordsworth depicted, situated on the banks of the River Wye. Fiona's music is inspired by nature and was composed in the heart of the Wye Valley.

Please join us to celebrate the 'Renewal' of life this Friday at 7.30pm. Tickets only £10 from the Abbey Stores or on the night. Limited places so be sure to book.

We look forward to seeing you there.
