About

Enjoy a circular walk under the shadow of Gray Hill, in Wentwood, once a hunting preserve for Chepstow Castle and the largest ancient woodland in Wales. The wood is now being restored under the Queens Commonwealth Canopy initiative. We follow known paths in the heart of the forest before walking out into open countryside with fabulous views to the Severn Estuary.

7.3 miles moderate with some ascent and descent. Dogs welcome but be aware there are 2 stiles that may require dogs to be lifted over.

Meeting Point: Wentwood Reservoir car park (Foresters Oaks picnic site), Usk Road, Llanvaches NP26 3AZ ST428939 ///wriggle.breakaway.barbarian.
